State Bank of India – SBI Clerk Selection Procedure & Syllabus 2023

Finally, the State Bank of India clerk notification is out. The whole pattern of examination is going to change this year. It will not be what it used to till the State Bank of India Clerk Exam 2023. Candidates have to check the new pattern of the State Bank of India Clerk Examination and the detailed syllabus of the State Bank of India Prelims. From now on in the State Bank of India Clerk Exam, there will be section-wise marking on the different topics and all topics will have their own weight. Applicants should start preparing for the latest pattern of examination.

Clerk Selection Procedure

This year SBI will conduct the examination in 2 phases, First, they will take the prelim exam and second the candidate who will be able to pass out the prelim exam need to conduct Mains exams. The qualification for the mains examination is to get more marks than the prelim cutoff.

The State Bank of India Clerk examination has now been divided into two sections:

  • Preliminary Exam 
  • Mains Exam

How many candidates will be selected for the mains examination?

Not all the candidates who have applied for the job will be selected for the mains examination. The Bank exam department will announce the specific cutoff mark and the candidate who will able to gain the marks above the cut-off will be selected for the mains sbi clerk main exam.

As per the official notification bank will count the cutoff mark in a specific pattern that by the cutoff, only 10 times student then the number of vacancies will be selected for mains examination.

 

SBI Clerk Prelim Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2023

The divisions will be effective from the State Bank of India Clerk examination 2023. The State Bank of India Clerk Prelims is now made into three parts. The three parts add up to a total of 100 marks. The time given to the applicant to complete the 100 marks is 60 minutes which is 1 hour. Till the Last year – 2023, there was a sectional cut-off marking system but this year sectional cut-off has been waived. The sectional cut-off has been removed from both the preliminary exam as well as the mains exam. To know more about the time-division per section checks the table below.

The English Language Syllabus for the SBI Clerk Prelim Exam 2023:

The State Bank of India Clerk Examination is conducted by the State Bank of India itself so that they can recruit candidates from different states for their clerical position. The English Syllabus for SBI Clerk Mains covers the same topics as the Prelims. However, the number of questions is higher in the SBI Clerk 2016 Mains exam. You will need to solve 40 questions in English worth 40 marks in 35 minutes. The paper can be broadly divided into four parts:

  • Topics Covered: Tenses, Articles, Prepositions, Subject Verb Agreement, Parallelism, Degrees of Comparison, Sentence Construction, Phrasal Verbs, Pronouns, Adverbs, Non-Finite Verbs, Common Errors, etc.

(3) Vocabulary (Cloze Test, Fill in the Blanks, Error Spotting, Phrase Replacement)

The eligibility criterion for the State Bank of India Clerk Examination is as follows:

  • The applicant or the candidate must be between the age group of 20 years to 28 years.
  • The applicant or the candidate must have a valid bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • For being eligible for the State Bank of India Clerk exam the candidate or applicant must be a citizen of India. The candidate can be a subject of Bhutan or a refugee who has come to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intent of settling down in India. Candidates can be of Indian origin but have migrated to India from countries like Burma, Pakistan, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia, but they also need to have an intention of settling down in India permanently.

State Bank of India Clerical Mains Examination Pattern

A candidate or applicant has to clear both examinations to get into the State Bank of India in the Clerical position.

The syllabus and pattern of both the mains and preliminary exams for the State Bank of India Clerk is more or less the same with minor variations. The candidate should have a stronghold on the English language, Computer Basics, General Awareness, and Quantitative aptitude as well as reasoning. The SBI clerk syllabus is not very hard but learning to complete a question in time is the key here. The SBI clerk exam pattern for 2023 is completely different from last year. A lot of changes have been made this year, and during the evaluation, the rules will be applied. The candidates should concentrate more on the syllabus rather than what is made new in the grading system and selection procedure of the State Bank of India. State Bank of India Clerk Admit Card Details 2023

All the candidates or applicants that have applied for the State Bank of India Clerk 2023 need to download their State Bank of India Clerk Admit Card 2023 from the official website of the State Bank of India where it will be generated. This year the State Bank of India Clerk Admit Card will not be couriered to the applicants. The hard copy is not required this year. A soft copy of the admit card will be required. The admit card will be available on the official website in two stages. The admit card for the preliminary exam will be available separately from the admit card of the State Bank of India’s main examination.

 

The applicants or candidates must have to log in to the accounts that they have created while making the online application. The admit card will be available to the candidates in their respective accounts where they can download it. It is very important to carry the admit card for the candidates on the day of the examination.

The State Bank of India Clerk Results and Cut off rules 2023

The State Bank of India clerk examination will be declared once both the preliminary as well as the mains examinations are done. From this time all the candidates have to meet the sectional cut-off marks for every other section to get selected. This is a new rule for this year’s examination and was not there until 2023.

The State Bank of India Clerk application process is to be announced soon in 2023. Candidates have to visit the official website of the State Bank of India to fill up the form and pay the application fees. The application fee for a State Bank of India Clerk is INR 600 for the General category and INR 100 for people from SC/ST/PWD/OBC. The online application will be announced soon. The preliminary examination of the State Bank of India Clerk will be from March to April, and the mains exam will be on November 2023.
