Assistance scheme to provide free umbrella/shade cover (also known as Chhatri) to small sellers to prevent spoilage of fruits and vegetables. The scheme will provide free umbrellas to hawkers with laris selling fruits, vegetables, flowers, and perishable agricultural products of the state on the roadside, selling in the haat bazaar.
This scheme has been published because local vegetables and fruit sellers are suffering from great loss. in this monsoon season, we can’t predict when the rain will come.
There are lots of hawkers (feraiya) who can’t afford to buy a big umbrella to protect their goods from the rain. That’s why the Gujarat government has decided to publish a free umbrella scheme and give one mafat Chhatri to all the street hawkers.
There are so many people who are going to get a huge benefit from this Free Chhatri Yojana. It is sure that the state government of Gujarat is implementing so many schemes. So that all the citizens will be able to grow economically and financially. With the help of this Free Chhatri Yojana, all the workers who are selling goods on the side of the road or crossroads will get a free roof-like umbrella to protect them from sunlight and rain.

Under this scheme, the vegetable and fruit sellers are allowed to obtain one umbrella or shade cover per family. That means the government will provide one Chhatri per ration card. The online application of this scheme can be done at ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in.
After applying online in i-khedut portal, get the print of the application, sign/thumbprint along with the instrumental papers shown in the application which should be submitted to the horticulture office of that district within the stipulated time. application Prior approval will be given from the district office within the target limit after checking the eligibility of the applicant based on the application received from the applicant and instrumental papers. The selected applicants will receive a free umbrella within a particular time.

The application should be submitted online between 16th June to 16th July 2020.
Applicants can take advantage of the free chhatri scheme again in two years. Applicants can apply again after 2 years for a new Chhatri/umbrella under free Chhatriatri yojana.
How to submit an online application for a free Chhatri scheme?
The online application for this scheme has been hosted on ikhedut portal. You just have to follow a few steps given here and you will be able to apply for yourself within just a matter of time. If you can not understand English then just follow the screenshot which I uploaded here.
- First of all open the ikhdut.gujarat.gov.in link.
- Now click on Yojanao Button from the menubar.
- Then click on the close button shown there.
- After that click on “Sidha ghatako jova mate ahi click Karo” button.
- Then select the year 2020-21 and press on go button.
- Now select the free Chhatri yojana link.
- Here click on the “Arji Karo” button and fill up the application form.
